Travel by Air
From the south, Fort Liard is most often accessed through Fort Nelson, BC. Central Mountain Air and Peace Air offer regularly scheduled flights to Fort Nelson from Edmonton, AB, Grande Prairie, AB, and Fort St. John, BC. Peace Air also offers flights into Fort Nelson from Edmonton, AB, Grande Prairie, AB, Prince George, BC and Fort St. John, BC. From Fort Nelson, travelers can charter flights into Fort Liard with North Cariboo Air, or can rent a vehicle or take a regularly scheduled taxi into town. If you are flying your own plane, Fort Liard has an all weather gravel runway and CARS (Community Airport Radio Station) radio operations. Radio operations are from 8 am - 4 pm, Monday to Friday.
